So, they’ve finally cancelled 24?
Good.
Now that sounds like I hated the show, but no. I love 24, and that is why I like the fact that it has been cancelled. American TV networks have an awful habit of stretching out a successful TV show, milking it for as long as possible, squeezing every last penny out of it. A prime example of this was one of my favourite shows, but they dragged it out waaay too long, way past the point where it was funny; Scrubs.
Now maybe their afraid of change? Maybe they’re they’re understandably worried that the program that replaces it won’t be able to recreate that amount of success. But, whatever the reason, it’s not good for the show, for the fans. We want to remember the show that we loved, that thrilled us, that made us laugh; not a show that’s been dragged out way too long leading to repetitive storylines and what not.
24 has been heading that way. It’s still good, but it is noticeably not as good as it once was.
Please America, learn a lesson. Quit while you’re ahead.
